Mark started working for Oldcastle Precast before there was an Oldcastle Precast in 1972, with Utility Vault
Company in Oregon. In 1974, Mark accepted an engineering position at Utility Vault in Auburn, WA. When
the new facility in Chandler, AZ, opened, Mark became the production superintendent. In 1977, he was
promoted to General Manager in Wilsonville, OR. Mark moved his wife and young son back to Chandler in
1984 as the General Manager and became the Vice President of Precast operations of Carder Concrete
Products with Profits & Loss responsibilities for the plants in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Mark
worked with Jim Schack to grow the company through acquisition as the Vice President of Development
and organically as General Manager of Chandler from 1989 until 1992. In 1992, Mark was promoted to
President of the Western Region for Oldcastle Precast. Mark succeeded Jim Schack as CEO for the
Precast Group in June of 2006.
